The Masked Singer really pulled out all of the stops this week with the high-energy intro performance by panelists Robin Thicke and Rita Ora performing “Rock You Like a Hurricane” by Scorpions.

Comedians Joel McHale and Nikki Glaser appeared as guest announcers, adding humor to the lively competition, and the Dust Bunny was unmasked as Andy Richter, the long-running sidekick of Conan O’Brien. But who were the remaining contestants? Let’s look at some of the clues.

Wasp

Wasp’s performance of Justin Timberlake’s “Rock Your Body” gives the impression of someone who knows how to dance or has a background in pop. The sharp moves and playful stage presence suggest a performer comfortable in the spotlight, possibly a singer who had success in the early 2000s.

The Masked Ambassador for Wasp was NE-YO, who was the Cow in season 10. He says he had known Wasp since the beginning and that he became popular because he took his words of advice, which seems like a clue. A boxing glove is a clue, as is the fact that he played on some of the biggest stages in the world.

Chess Piece

Chess Piece, singing Cher’s iconic “Believe,” gave off an aura of a performer with experience in showmanship. The powerful vocals and commanding stage presence could indicate someone from theater or an accomplished vocalist, hinting at either an actor or a diva from the pop world. His shoes had gold honeycombs and wings.

The Masked Ambassador Nikki Glaser said Chess Pieice is fashion forward. The Chess Piece said that a leading role changed her life. The Chess piece shoe was a green tennis shoe.

Bluebell

Bluebell’s rendition of Pat Benatar’s “We Belong” evoked feelings of nostalgia. This song choice could point to an actress or singer who made her mark during the 1980s, a time when powerful female voices dominated the music charts.

The Masked Ambassador Kelly Osbourne said they made tabloid headlines together and that she was the subject of much gossip. She recently found her true love, along with cargo pants and crop tops. Bluebell’s shoe was rollerblades, and she said she always chooses to rock out.

Goo

The performance of “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims had plenty of energy and suggested a younger celebrity. The song and vibe bring to mind a connection to modern music, possibly a performer from the hip-hop or alternative music scenes, known for their expressive style.

The Masked Ambassador for Goo was Keenan Allen, the season 9 gargoyle. He said Goo is similar to him in that he has a sensitive side that is seldom seen. He is a music nerd, winning several awards with an older brother who plays guitar. His shoe was a pair of goo-covered musical cleats with a clue to focus on the Soul.
