In an exciting conclusion, The Old Man Season 2 finale, “XV,” left viewers with heart-pounding suspense and plenty of lingering questions. What does this mean for next season? Here’s a closer look at the key moments and what they might mean for the future of this intense series.

Emily’s shocking return

The biggest reveal in the finale was the reveal that Emily is still alive after everyone thought she was seas. She has also fully embraced her identity as  Parwana Hamzad and is in control of the Meshbahar mineral deposits in Afghanistan. This revelation transforms her into a powerful figure rivaling the show’s most established players. Her shift from a kidnapped daughter to a decisive leader is striking,

Could Parwana’s newfound authority mean a rift with Dan Chase, who has risked everything for her? He doesn’t seem too keen on following her orders to save Harold Harper.

Marion and Harold

Marion, ex-wife of Assistant FBI Director Harold Harper, makes her motives clear in the finale as she manipulates her way deeper into the rare earth minerals cartel. Her sudden moves reveal her willingness to sacrifice even her family ties to achieve her goals, and she comes across as pure evil.

Could Marion’s actions spell long-term consequences for Harold in Season 3? Her alliance with Pavlovich’s cartel suggests she has a plan that could make her a central antagonist in the next season. The finale leaves Harold’s fate uncertain, with his alliances fractured and his loyalties tested to their limit.

A final twist for Pavlovich

In an unexpected turn, Pavlovich, once firmly in control, finds his power slipping as new players seize parts of his empire. As Pavlovich’s grip weakens, characters like Parwana, Zoe, and perhaps even Marion could step up to fill the void.

Pavlovich’s fall from power might introduce new antagonists or elevate familiar characters into central conflicts, pushing each to their limits in the quest for dominance.

Season 3 speculation: What’s next?

In one of the finale’s more intense sequences, Dan Chase fights for his life against the effects of Pavlovich’s poison, with Zoe risking everything to save him, showing how much she cares for him, but what does that mean for their future and will her role expand? Could Marion’s actions spell long-term consequences for Harold in Season 3? Will we see Dan and Parwana at odds?
