It pains our hearts to acknowledge that What We Do In The Shadows will soon conclude its six-season run. It has been an amazing six seasons and we are unclear what life will be like without our favorite vampires giving us the belly-busting laughs we have come to love.

In case you missed it or haven't gotten around to watching the show, What We Do In The Shadows is filmed in a mockumentary style and follows a group of vampires hoping to make sense of the world they live in while in their pursuit of creating a new world for vampires. They live in Staten Island together with a familiar who is often too anxious and overworked to make sense of his life, coupled with the fact that all he wants is to be a vampire himself.

That is the cornerstone and foundation of this amazing Emmy-nominated series, and now, the time has to come bid it farewell after this upcoming season. With it premiering just around the corner, we thought it would be helpful to share everything we know about the sixth and final season.

Here's what we know so far!

Are there any new characters in Season 6?

During this year's What We Do In The Shadows San Diego Comic-Con panel, series star Kristen Schaal, who plays the Guide, revealed SNL's Mike O'Brien will be playing Jerry the Vampire. Apparently, he was once roommates with the vampire gang but has been in a vampiric sleep since the late 70s.

There haven't been any other additions announced thus far, but just like in seasons past, it would not be surprising if there were a lot of cameos in the final season. None have been announced, but rest assured, we are likely to see old and new cameos in the final batch of episodes. Previously, we have seen the likes of Mark Hamill and Wesley Snipes pop in for an episode, so we can only imagine what is in store for the final season!

When does What We Do In The Shadows Season 6 premiere?

The sixth and final season will premiere on FX on Monday, October 21st, 2024, at 10 PM EST. According to Screen Rant, it will be a three-episode premiere followed by one episode a week for the remaining eight episodes.

Who will be returning for What We Do In The Shadows Season 6?

The gang is all back for the sixth and final season, including Harvey Guillén (Guillermo), Kavyan Novak (Nandor the Relentless), Matt Berry (Laszlo), Mark Proksch (Colin Robinson), Natasia Demetriou (Nadja), and Kristen Schaal (The Guide).

What is the plot of What We Do In The Shadows Season 6?

At the end of Season 5, Guillermo fulfilled his dream of becoming a vampire but promptly decided by the end that he actually did not want to be one. It was a very confusing journey, to say the least. Not to mention, he hid it from everyone only to decide against it.

If we had to guess, the final season is likely going to close out Guillermo's story in some capacity and have him balance the lifestyle he has struggled to maintain over the last few seasons. Will he fully embrace being a human? Or will he decide that the vampiric ways are the way to go?

We feel that this will likely be the heart and soul of the final season. However, we can't forget the rest of the gang. There will have to be some closure with them, but how that will happen is completely unknown. Perhaps they'll finally take over the world? We would love to see that.

Be sure to tune in for the three-episode premiere of What We Do In The Shadows Season 6 on Monday, October 21st on FX at 10 PM EST.
