It’s a Wonderful Knife
It’s a Wonderful Knife is a 2023 American Christmas horror-comedy film directed by Tyler MacIntyre. It’s about a girl who is down on her luck despite saving her town from a psychotic killer on Christmas Eve. Wishing she’d never been born, she suddenly finds herself in a nightmare parallel universe where, without her, things are much worse, and the killer is back.
Jane Widdop stars as Winnie Carruthers, and Joel McHale gives a strong supporting performance. The film enthusiastically takes a stab at holiday-themed horror comedy and is a fun watch.
A Nasty Piece of Work
A Nasty Piece of Work is a feature-length episode from Hulu’s horror anthology series Into the Dark, produced by Blumhouse Television. It centers on a mid-level corporate employee who learns he’s not getting his Christmas bonus. However, his boss invites him and several others, including a rival, over for a holiday gathering. What follows is an evening filled with psychological games and challenges to earn a promotion.
It’s a great entry in the Into the Dark series, and many consider it one of the best due to its clever and surprising elements, which keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
