The second half of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. two-parter entitled “Collision Course” aired tonight. Though the ending seemingly set up an even larger plot for the following episodes.

In tonight’s episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the team came together to battle the calamity approaching Earth. On one end they had Sarge trying to drop a warhead on North America, and on the other, they had Izel (Karolina Wydra) trying to give birth to her swarm of alien bats.

With all the odds posed against them, S.H.I.E.L.D. still managed to reclaim control of the Zephyr and rescued FitzSimmons from Izel’s vessel, of course, with a little help from Jaco (Winston James Francis). Unfortunately, Jaco wound up sacrificing himself to blow Izel’s ship to pieces, which eliminated the Shrike threat, or so we thought.

The final moments of Season 6, Episode 9 appear to show Agent May (Ming-Na Wen) executing Sarge (Clark Gregg) while he sits in his cell expecting a new concierge. This comes as May says “I should’ve done this the first time I met you.”. Normally her actions would simply confirm May is tying up loose ends but that may not be the case.

The promo for “Leap” reveals Izel survived the bomb explosion set off by Jaco in “Collision Course Pt. 2”. It doesn’t show how she managed to, though clues are pointing to Izel being a shapeshifter. She did mysteriously disappear as Davis and Jaco closed in on her location and we’re starting to think Izel didn’t actually disappear. Instead, she likely hitched a ride on Davis’ body.

Glimpses in the promo for Season 6, Episode 10 depict Izel phasing through Agent May’s body. The effects are unknown though it’s likely that Izel can control others, using their bodies to do her bidding. If so, that would explain why May is being accused of murdering Sarge despite having no memory of the situation.

Whatever the case may be, Izel definitely isn’t dead and she’s still a major threat looming on the horizon. And until the S.H.I.E.L.D. team can eliminate her, the Shrike will continue to plague Earth.
