In Season 19, Episode 3 of Ghost Adventures, the crew investigates Mount Wilson Ranch near Pioche, Nevada. This time looking for both alien and Indian spirits. Although, the episode opens in a rather awkward manner.

So, what is the lure at Mount Wilson Ranch for the intrepid Ghost Adventures crew? Lots of sites deserved their recognition but what could have drawn them to this mysterious ranch in Nevada.

For those who are unfamiliar with the site, Mount Wilson Ranch is listed as a resort hotel that states it is at the heart of the Wild Wild West. It is located some 25 miles from the nearby town of Pioche, which in the 1860s was considered the worst town in the west. It was so bad, that 72 people were killed before even one person died from natural circumstances.

Basically, Pioche was a town split between half reasonably good people while the remaining town was comprised of thieves, scoundrels, and murderers. So, the town wound up with an interesting sordid history.

Now, though in the twentieth century Mount Wilson Ranch advertises itself as a great place to get away from the city and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. The ranch’s guides promote activities such as touring the gold mine, taking a trip to the top of Mount Wilson, Hunting, and off-roading on the hundred trails located nearby.

A gentleman by the name of Robert Bigelow of Bigelow Aerospace supposedly purchased Mount Wilson Ranch because of its UFO history. Also, apparently for the ranch’s concentration of supernatural energy and reports of extraterrestrial sightings. The interesting thing is there is no documentation or history of truth supporting this claim. There is an obscure reference to Bigelow and the ranch in a book titled Forbidden Science by Jacques Vallee, but that is it.

During the usual interview process where the Ghost Adventures producers arrange for people to be interviewed by Bagans? Things take an interesting turn.

The first interview had to be canceled due to the interviewees’ brother having a heart attack. Another person that was to be interviewed apparently left in a huff, and another wouldn’t go into any details about an event she was told by two visitors. Apparently, something very bad happened in the male restroom and that was all she was told. When asked by Bagans their name so he could contact them about the event, he was told no. She wouldn’t provide the names to Bagans and she couldn’t provide him with any details on what the two gentlemen had experienced. When interviewing Nicole Zaccaro, resident of the resort hotel and asked about her experiences, she responded she didn’t know of any instances. After some prodding by Bagans, she stated that there had been some noises.

There were a couple of telephone interviews providing support to conspiracy theorists that Bigelow did indeed purchase the ranch and was conducting experiments. One of the telephone interviewees was Jeff MacBurnie who is the manager of Mount Wilson Ranch and he stated that Bigelow spoke to him directly about the circumstances surrounding the ranch.

Bagans after conducting the interviews did a sidebar with his crew commenting on how nobody seemed to want to talk, that they were all scared of something. That the air around the ranch seem inhospitable and not wanting the crew there. That observation could be accurate, but it could also be that no one was talking because there was nothing to talk about. This is, after all, a vacation resort for city-weary people to get away and relax. Nothing in the advertisements or reviews to suggest that this resort is haunted or visited by aliens.

In a Facebook post, the ranch did extend a welcome to Dr. Steven Greer. Greer is a renowned UFO investigator trying to find the truth about UFO’s and suppressed alien technologies. Allowing Greer to conduct a UFO investigation on their ranch suggests that there might be UFO activity in the area, even if there isn’t any paranormal activity.

Now for the investigation itself. The crew drove up to the mountain to begin their investigation with a pit-bull named ‘King.’ After a few humorous attempts to drive up the snow-covered mountain path, they made it to the top. Commenting on how quiet it was up at the top a whistle was heard that appeared to spook King. A side-note here; King seems to belong to the managers of the ranch as he appears in the pictures the ranch posted on Facebook.

Capturing a whistle that affects King, in my opinion, is suspect. Continuing with the investigation, they went back up to the top of the hill at night (in the snow in Nevada.) Of course, the vehicle didn’t make it in the ice and snow up to the top, so they left the vehicle where it was and then continued walking.

A black shadow was captured in the camera left at the car which seemed to cause the camera to switch from night vision to regular. An unusual anomaly for sure. The crew went back to the town to investigate the buildings and captured quite a bit of EVP’s and some strange noises. The most interesting part is when the front door appears to open on its own. It could have been because the door wasn’t closed all the way and a gust of wind blew it opened.

All in all, this investigation was rather confusing. Was the evidence collected Native American spirits, aliens, or were they just poor souls that died over the years? Let us know your thoughts on the investigation in the comments section below.
