Marvel’s Cloak And Dagger: How will “Blue Note” lead into the season two finale?
By Paul Zuniga
The upcoming episode of Marvel’s Cloak And Dagger will set up the grand finale in next week’s episode. Continue reading for a preview of “Blue Note”.
Tonight’s episode of Cloak And Dagger will kick off the final arc of Season 2. In it, Tandy (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph) are going to face down two threats — one is Andre (Brooklyn McLinn) — and the other is Mayhem (Emma Lahana)? She supposedly agreed to a merge between herself and the original Brigid but sneak peeks at Season 2, Episode 9 gives us the impression that she lied.
Apart from the obvious reasons, Mayhem going back on her word would tie-in perfectly with her comic counterpart. She’s a deranged villain who’ll do anything to wipe the streets clean of criminals, which includes killing anyone in her way. Therefore, it makes sense that Mayhem has no reservations about axing criminals.
In “Blue Note”, Mayhem will be faced with this exact dilemma when she and Tandy argue over killing Lia (Dilshad Vadsaria). They’re seen picking Lia up off the side of the road with Mayhem threatening to kill her shortly after. Tandy, however, steps in to stop the misguided Detective from murdering anyone else unnecessarily.
The aforementioned sneak peek shows Tandy and Mayhem preparing to fight. Tandy throws a Light Dagger at her but we’ve seen Mayhem catch them with her bare hands before. This probably means they’ll have a longer fight — one that’ll presumably be broken up by Tyrone or the real Brigid. It’s unclear whether or not Brigid is still alive, but if that is the case, she could potentially intervene.
Regardless of how that fight goes, the Cloak and Dagger team will have to address the Mayhem situation at some point. She’s obviously willing to kill indiscriminately, it’s only a matter of time before Mayhem sets her sights on innocent individuals. The definition of “innocent” depends on one’s interpretation of the word, of course, Mayhem could view everyone as guilty if her mind becomes clouded by rage.
