In the upcoming season finale of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the precinct’s detectives will be forced to ask a former cellmate of Jake’s for advice on how to stop a serial killer.

While every season finale to Brooklyn Nine-Nine is bittersweet, season six appears to be taking a hard-right turn by making the entire episode a tense affair. The finale will apparently deal with a serial killer, forcing the Nine-Nine’s detectives to ask an old friend for help.

Warning! Potential spoilers for the season six finale of Brooklyn Nine-Nine follow. Read on at your own discretion.

The person who they go to isn’t the most conventional but Caleb (Tim Meadows) is definitely the right man for the job. He has the most expertise in this case since the killer in question has a penchant for removing body parts from their victims. Detective Peralta (Andy Samberg) and Detective Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) have chased after crazy murderers in the past but no one like this, which brings us back to Caleb.

Images from “Sicko” confirm that Jake and Charles will visit Caleb in prison. What’s strange are the security measures placed around him. While Caleb is a known cannibal, he didn’t have all those restraints on him when Jake in prison. Caleb was also in general population so he wasn’t that much of a security threat. Now, however, it looks like Caleb’s status as a cannibal has become a liability.

As you can see, Caleb is brought into the interrogation room with a Hannibal Lector-esque faceguard on. This may be due to his past crimes but perhaps Caleb gave in to his animalistic urges once again. He never shied away from the fact that he enjoyed eating people before, what’s to say Caleb didn’t chow down on another prisoner?

In addition to consulting a known cannibal, the Nine-Nine is also going to confront the real serial killer. The criminal’s identity isn’t shown in the released images but seeing as how Captain Holt’s team all have their hands up in the air, it’s safe to say they’ll be taken as hostages. The question is: Who will save them?

If we’re looking at who’s in the room, there aren’t many other Detectives left. Jake, Charles, and Holt were initially the first ones on the case but the rest of Holt’s squad are present for the hostage situation. Most fans will assume that Holt is en route to rescue them but we think not. The reason why is the finale’s episode title.

Being that season six finale of Brooklyn Nine-NIne is called “Suicide Squad”, our guess is that Holt will recruit some unconventional Detectives to help save his squad from becoming lunchmeat.

For anyone who isn’t familiar with the name, the ‘Suicide Squad’ is best known as a team of villains from the DC Comics universe. This gives us reason to believe that Holt will form his own version of the team—one that consists of a few unlikely Detectives.

As far as who might be on that team, there are a couple of characters who come to mind. The first of these has to be Detective Pembroke aka The Vulture. He left the 99th Precinct after Jake worked out a deal to have Holt reinstated as the precinct’s Captain but the Vulture (Dean Winters) could make for a useful ally regardless of their past.

Additionally, Madeline Wuntch (Kyra Sedgwick) could be among the Detectives who Holt recruits for this crucial mission. Fans might disagree with that claim since Holt and Wuntch have collided on more than one occasion, but if the lives of NYPD officers are at risk, Wuntch will likely put aside her petty disagreements to help save them.

Regardless of who is on this possible “suicide squad”, the Nine-Nine appears to be in serious danger. We don’t expect any of them to meet untimely demises but you never know with season finales.
