NBC’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Who will win the season six heist?
By Paul Zuniga
It may not be Halloween but Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s producers haven’t forgotten about the annual heist. The question is: which member of the precinct will win this year’s competition?
The heist is back on everyone! Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s annual competition has become a staple of the series over the past five seasons and will remain alive in season six. The Brooklyn Nine-Nine Twitter Account tweeted out an announcement earlier this week, confirming that this week’s episode would revisit the classic Halloween heist, be it with a slight difference.
For anyone unfamiliar with the B99 heists, they consist of the Precinct’s Detectives—and Captain Holt (Andre Braugher)—competing for the title of smartest detective/genius. Their goal is to steal a particular object of interest before the clock strikes midnight and the person in possession of the item wins.
Each prior season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine has seen a different person win the competition, with the exception of season five. Last year’s Halloween heist ended without a winner being crowned since Jake (Andy Samberg) used the game to propose to Amy (Melissa Fumero). That makes the score even amongst all the winners.
Now that the stage has been set up for an epic competition, fans are in for an extremely intense episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine tonight. And with the stakes raised even higher, every Detective is going to be at the top of their game.
As far as competitors go, it appears as though every member of Holt’s squad is participating—even Hitchcock (Dirk Blocker) and Scully (Joel McKinnon Miller) are making a drive for the title. Their team has been coined the #LazyBoys on social media, emphasizing their participation in this year’s heist. Keep in mind that all bets are off on who will come out victorious.
There is one aspect of the heist that’s yet to be revealed: the theme. We know the Season 6 heist won’t be Halloween-themed but it’s anyone’s guess as to how they’ll organize this year’s competition.
