Blumhouse’s Into The Dark: I’m Just F**ing With You recap

To kick off April, Hulu released its laugh-ridden installment of Into The Dark entitled “I’m Just F**ing With You. Check out our recap of the feature below.

Similar to the previous installments of Blumhouse’s Into The Dark horror series, I’m Just F**ing With You takes a minute to shift from an everyday situation to something you’d see in a horror film. It’s a slow build-up, but when the tone shifts, the drama becomes all too real and definitely worth the wait. But for anyone who hasn’t seen the latest entry, let’s recap it for you.

In I’m Just F**ing With You, the beginning picks up with Larry (Keir O’Donnell) driving to an old friend’s wedding. He’s not too thrilled about the trip since the bride-to-be used to be his girlfriend —and now—she’s marrying his cousin.

On the way there, Larry stops at the Pink Motel where he meets the obnoxious attendee, Chester (Hayes MacArthur). The attendant notices Larry’s displeased demeanor and begins poking fun at him, using every opportunity possible to pull a fast one on the secret internet troll.

Oh yes, before we forget to mention, Larry is actually an online troll. He’s been bombarding his ex’s Facebook page with derogatory statements, all in an effort to make her wedding and marriage miserable. Unfortunately, things don’t work out that way in the end.

After a while of pranking Larry, Chester throws aside the facade and begins murdering people left and right. He gets to everyone except Larry and Rachel (Jessica McNamee) for a specific reason.

Rather than killing Larry, Chester puts him through the worst prank of his life. What he does is forces Larry to confess to his true identity. Afterward, Chester posts the confession online and everyone in Larry’s group of friends sees the pitiful video.

Even Larry’s ex-girlfriend comments on the sad post and insults him at the same time. Keep in mind that her reaction came after she learned Larry was the troll bombarding her Twitter feed. To make matters worse, Chester had one more prank in store for Larry.

Despite promising to let Rachel go safely in exchange for Larry’s confession, Chester reveals that he killed her earlier in the night. Chester considers it his best prank since Larry would never have posted that video if he’d known Rachel was already dead.

Visibly shocked to find his sister a rotting corpse, Larry appears to lose it. He goes along with Chester’s crazy plan of crashing his ex-girlfriend’s wedding so they venture out together.

While on the road, Larry begins acting just as deranged as Chester. He agrees with Chester’s psychotic ideas and tries to relate as much possible. It appears as though Larry will become a murderer until his intention to avenge his sister’s death becomes clear.

Larry starts telling Chester a story about their car and how it was customized to remove the airbag from the front seat, but just on the passenger side. He then speeds up and crashes into a wall.

The audience doesn’t get to see what happens but everyone assumes Larry and Chester both died in the crash—that is until the credits roll. When they do, the credits show wanted posters for Larry. He’s being charged with first-degree murder for Rachel’s murder.

A glimpse at Rachel’s autopsy report reveals that Chester injected her with bleach but Larry is being held responsible. The strange thing is Chester isn’t mentioned once. Could he have survived the collision?

Whatever happened, Larry is now on the run and living as a social pariah. He can’t ask any of his family or friends for help and the public is aware of his wanted status so Larry doesn’t have too many options. Of course, he may find refuge alongside another survivor within the Into The Dark universe.
