The season finale of NBC’s Manifest ended by dropping some major cliffhangers on audiences. Take a look at our breakdown of the most important questions we have after the finale below.

If you were one of the people counting on NBC’s Manifest making sense after the season finale, you were probably disappointed to learn that nothing was solved in the end.

Warning! Spoilers for the season finale of Manifest follow. You’ve been warned.

As most of us learned early on in the premiere season, the mysteries would just continue to stack up on themselves. Some clues and small hints have been left for fans to deduce what the story is about but no solid theories have been suggested—which is why the season finale was eyed as the big shocker episode.

Don’t get me wrong, the season finale of Manifest dropped some huge bombshells on audiences—ones worth exploring in a future season—it just didn’t give fans what they were looking for. This presumption doesn’t apply to everyone but a fraction of viewers just let the show go because the spiral of mysteries made it too similar to ABC’s Lost series.

Without some definitive answer as to what’s going on, a good majority of people upset over how Manifest ended its’ first season probably won’t tune in for season two—assuming it is greenlit—fingers are crossed. Of course, those fans should give the show a second chance considering the questions that Manifest’s sophomore season will provide us answers to.

First off, fans want to know whether or not the Stone family is actually destined to die. Cal (Jack Messina) revealed that the clock is ticking for them during the episode’s climax, followed by Ben confirming his son’s theory.

More from Netflix News

Since James Griffin (Mark Menchaca) died exactly 82 hours and 8 minutes after being rescued from the river, the Stone team discovered that they might be in a similar situation. Griffin remained alive for the same amount of time he was in the water so if the same rule applies to the Flight 828 passengers, they only have five years left to live.

The Stone family is obviously struggling with this realization but they’re going to find a way around the inevitable death clock. There’s no telling how they’ll accomplish such a feat, though our guess is that Cal will discover a solution.

In any case, the prophesied deaths of Cal, Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh), and Ben Stone (Josh Dallas) imply that they were supposed to die aboard Flight 828. Just like James Griffin was supposed to die in the van that sunk to the bottom of the Brooklyn River, they’re destined for similar fates.

The plane they were on never actually crashed, but after seeing Griffin instantaneously die from drowning, it’s safe to assume a catastrophic event will usher them out of this world.

The concern here is how a supernatural—or natural force—could replicate the plane’s explosion. Imploding all the passengers at once sounds feasible but people spontaneously combusting would be pretty harsh. Hopefully, Cal and his father figure out how to prevent the disastrous fate from coming true.

As for the rest of the Stone family, Grace (Athena Karkanis) found yet another way to make fans hate her going into season two.

Before throwing shade at the actress who plays Grace on the series, let’s not forget that Athena Karkanis is just an actress who put on an amazing performance—she’s not Grace. But, if we’re looking at the merit of Grace’s actions alone, she’s a difficult person to like.

A good portion of fans would agree considering how she flip-flopped between Danny (Daniel Sunjata) Ben throughout most of season one—and now she’s pregnant with Danny’s baby.

When Grace explained the situation to Ben, she hesitated to give him a timeline of the pregnancy because that would prove the child was fathered by Danny. Grace and Ben miraculously embraced after coming to this stark reality but the expression on her face tells us that she’s reconsidering her decision to leave Danny.

Ben also seems like he’s having second thoughts about returning to Grace. They’ve reconciled since she kicked Ben out but he’s going to be distraught over this new situation, and none of us would hold it against him if he decided to leave Grace. She hasn’t given Ben much choice either.

At the same time, expecting Ben to stick around while she welcomes Danny’s baby into the world might be asking too much of a husband. Ben can keep his reservations about Danny at bay but fathering a child with Grace may be the last straw for him. Perhaps a separation will actually work in Ben’s favor.

Will Ben and Saanvi wind up together?

Even though they’re not together on the show, a favorited couple among Manifesters has been Ben and Saanvi (Parveen Kaur) also known as Beenvi. The two haven’t even toyed with the idea of an affair but officially divorcing Grace could present Ben with an opportunity to spark something up with Saanvi. It’s what fans are calling for and Jeff Rake should make a note of that going into Season Two.

Lastly, the highly-anticipated fight between Jared (J.R. Ramirez) and Zeke (Matt Long) ended with a gun being fired. The season finale’s concluding moments didn’t reveal who the victim was but the gun was shot while Michaela walked into the room. There’s a chance she was struck by the bullet but Jeff Rake’s explanation of the Season Finale tells us that she survived. Therefore, it’s much likelier that Jared or Zeke was hit.

If one of them is expected to die from the gunshot, Michaela’s romantic life is about to get a lot less complicated—or more depending on how you look at it. Whatever happened, the fight will presumably end with Michaela taking one side while completely shutting the other off.

Our hope is for Jared to come out victorious but after closely analyzing the scene in Michaela’s apartment, it’s going to look like Jared instigated the fight. Michaela asked him to back off multiple times so finding Jared in a fist-fight with Zeke doesn’t look good for him.

Unless Jared takes a bullet and survives, Michaela is probably going to side with Zeke. In turn, this could lead to the dynamic of their relationship changing—possibly blossoming into something romantic. We hope that’s not the case here but the connection Michaela shares with Zeke seems to suggest they’ll remain by each other’s side.
