The first batch of Fear The Walking Dead Season 5 images are here and they give us a brief glimpse at Dwight in his new environment. Though, only so much can be determined from the images.

Being that Austin Amelio is the second character to crossover from The Walking Dead to Fear The Walking Dead, his appearance is a highly-anticipated one. Many fans have guesses as to how Dwight (Amelio) will factor into the current storyline but no one knows for sure. However, we have a few guesses.

For one, Dwight is probably still out searching for Sherry (Christine Evangelista). He returned to their old home in the TWD Season 8 Finale after Daryl (Norman Reedus) let him go but found the house empty. Sherry left Dwight a letter but didn’t clarify where she’d be going—that presents a big problem for Dwight’s search.

On the other hand, Dwight may have set his sights on more respectable fronts—possibly becoming a useful ally to another group of survivors. Although, a Season 5 image of an ax hanging over Dwight’s neck gives us the impression that he’s found himself on the wrong side of it.

It is worth mentioning that the image’s angle is oddly set up so Dwight may be carrying the ax hanging over his back. In that scenario, said image could be of Dwight’s first meeting with Morgan (Lennie James) and Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) since they’re in the proceeding images.

Victor (Colman Domingo) and Charlie (Alexa Nisenson) are in another image which probably means they’ll encounter Dwight around the same time. The question is—will he have another familiar face with him?

By now, most of us have heard that Daniel (Ruben Blades) is returning to the series. He was absent for all of season four but will make a grand return in season five. How he’ll return is up for debate, though partnering with another group of survivors seems like his best bet.

Whatever the case may be, Dwight is bound to shake things up. Morgan (James) and his crew had a whole operation ready to save the world in the Season 4 Finale but Dwight will probably find some way to mess all that up—he always does.
